**Job Function**:
The Relief Cook works in a supportive role in the Dietary Department in the provision of high quality food service to the Residents of Bridges Community Living. S/he is responsible to the Chef and the Manager.
**Responsibilities**:
- To support the Manager and the Chef
- To develop the menu in cooperation with the Chef and Manager
- Ongoing supervision, in cooperation with the Chef and Manager of all food service staff
- For general organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room and storage areas
- For maintaining adequate food supplies and inventory control of all items
- To use safe work procedures and comply with BCL policies and procedures
- To work with the Activity Coordinator in promoting and preparing for special events
- To function as a member of the Lodge team, working with Managers, co-workers and residents to provide a positive work environment, discouraging rumors and gossip
- To act quickly and calmly in emergency situations
- For documentation and communication of all problems
- Other tasks as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Good health, able to perform the tasks required
- Current Emergency First Aid, Food Safe Handling Certificate, WHMIS, mandatory criminal record check
- Related experience working with Seniors an asset
- A flexible, willing and positive work attitude that promotes team building
- A high standard of hygiene and personal appearance
- Mature, friendly rapport with Seniors, visitors and families
- Dependable and Trustworthy
This position is open to both male and female applicants
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week
**Salary**: From $21.75 per hour
