**Summary**

Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Human Resources Generalist will provide day to day support to internal staff in executing HR programs and policies. The HR Generalist will act as a resource to employees and management and will have responsibility for various HR activities including recruitment & selection, employee relations, compensation administration, performance management, training and development, succession planning, benefit/RRSP enrollment, leadership development and special projects, as required.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Research relevant legislation to better understand employee relations issues, the impacts of changes, wage surveys and benefits programs to identify trends and opportunities for changing practices.
- Work with the business leaders to identify, forecast and prioritize talent needs and develop/execute talent plans which enable business strategies, engage employees and achieve organization results.
- Partner, assist and coach supervisors in determining appropriate corrective action, conflict resolution, and performance management techniques for their employees.
- Discuss succession planning with the senior leadership team and follow through on action plans.
- Participate in investigation meetings for incident and harassment complaints, and advise management, accordingly, ensuring consistency with policy & past practice; prepare disciplinary documents; Participate in employee terminations; ensuring decisions are investigated fully and employment standards criteria are met.
- Administration of pension and benefit programs; including enrollment & termination, annual renewals, addressing employee concerns.
- Manage monthly benefits invoices to prepare for payment; identify discrepancies in and make necessary changes.
- Responsible for gathering and processing all new hires, salary/organizational changes, terminations in employee tracking systems.
- Research external benefit/wage comparisons and internal wage scales to continue equitable pay increases, and identify discrepancies in need of modification.
- Work with the management team to identify and improve processes and practices which can translate to enhanced engagement, retention and revenue.
- Conduct and continuously update new hire onboarding process.
- Complete annual policy development; ensure on-going compliance with applicable legislation (Pay Equity, Employment Standards, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.

**Essential Skills and Qualifications**
- Working knowledge of Employment Standards Act, and Human Rights Code and OHSA.
- Experience with sourcing prospective staff members is required.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to handle difficult conversations is required.
- Outstanding written capabilities for policy and report writing with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in handling multiple assignments.
- Self-starter who takes initiative.
- CHRP Designation is an asset.
- MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

**Education/Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related discipline and post-secondary education from an accredited institution in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive experience working in Human Resource and talent acquisition
