**POSITION**: Victim Service Worker
**LOCATION**: Maple Ridge, BC

Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, this 18 hour/week position provides direct services to victims of adult sexual assault, child abuse, and spousal assault and their families by providing practical assistance and emotional support throughout the justice system. This position is responsible for developing a comprehensive, integrated service with other victim services and agencies in the community. Shall promote the service within the community.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education, Training and Experience**:

- Minimum of a certificate/ diploma or equivalent combination of related education and experience in the human service field.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Clear Criminal Record Check is required.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Valid and unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
- Position requires Union Membership.

**Shift/Schedule/Hours per week**:18 hours per week; until March 31, 2025.
**Wage/Salary**:$27.54/hour
**Grid Level**: 11
**Expected Start Date**:ASAP

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must possess proven ability to working in the areas of family dynamics/family violence,

sexual/physical assault issues, child development, self-esteem and communication issues.
- Must be able to develop and maintain liaising with community agencies and Ministries.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the justice system, police and court procedures and possess excellent

written/verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated case management abilities including record keeping and statistics are required.
- The ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team model.
- This position requires the employees to use their own person vehicle for work purposes.
