Speech Language Specialist

Provide speech and language based support to children aged 5-18 years old
- Identify, assess, treat, manage and administer appropriate language based services to support the communication needs of the child
- Educate and support caregivers as needed
- Consult with other systems to case plan and advocate for the child’s needs
- Provide therapy progress reports in a timely manner as required
- Participate in monthly case consultation with a senior therapist
- Use therapy specific software for documenting, scheduling and accounting purposes
- Available to work one weekend day and/or one evening (minimum)

**Qualifications**
- Experience (3 years minimum) working with children, youth and families
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; other languages will be considered an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of practice as it relates to children and adolescents

**Other self-employment requirements include**:

- Registration with the appropriate professional association is preferred
- Criminal Reference Check and Child Registry Check
- Computer and preferred therapeutic toys/supplies
- Ability to work evenings and weekends

**Compensation/Benefits**

Please note that this position is **not** an employee/employer relationship, and salary is based on a contract, reflective of clients seen per week. Hours per week may vary between 3-15 without any guarantee of clients per caseload.
