**Business Intelligence Analyst - Government of Alberta**
**Location: Alberta, Canada**
**Hours: 08:15 - 16:30 Alberta time**
**Department: Public Service Commission (PSC), Government of Alberta**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with various teams to align business dashboards and enhance data visualizations.
- Analyze data sets relevant to Ministry business areas and deliver impactful work products.
- Efficiently handle technology products catering to dynamic technology needs and information demands.
- Engage in the gathering and documentation of client requirements for BI initiatives.
- Design, construct, and maintain information products while capturing necessary metadata.
- Manage control processes including scheduling, reporting, risk, and change management.
- Ensure BI deliverables are within quality standards and set timelines.
- Perform data analysis, quality audits, statistical analysis, and data mining.
- Address ad-hoc information inquiries and escalate issues as needed.
**Requirements**:
- University degree in computer science or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; OR
- 2-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; OR
- 1-year certificate in computer science or a related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; OR
- A current professional certification or accreditation with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading or facilitating meetings and workshops with clients or stakeholders (5 years).
- Proven track record in identifying, gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements (5 years).
- Proficiency in creating data visualizations, dashboards, and information products using BI/analytics software such as SAS Visual Analytics, MS Power BI, Tableau, or similar (4 years).
- Experience with BI and data analytics within an organization of comparable size and complexity as the Government of Alberta (3 years).
- Must be located in Alberta due to network and data security concerns.
**Desired Skills/Experience**:
- Advanced skills in BI/analytics software for creating data visualizations and dashboards (5 years).
- Autonomous work capability with mínimal mentoring (3 years).
- Strong background in business or BI requirements analysis and documentation (5 years).
- Leadership in meetings and collaborative workshops (5 years).
- Familiarity with human capital management data and financial data architecture (2 years).
- Direct experience in data management, data analysis, analytics, visualization, and governance (5 years).
- Competence in visualizing quantitative analytics effectively (5 years).
- Decision-making and recommendations on technical or complex issues without set guidelines (5 years).
- Ability to translate technical processes to non-technical audiences (5 years).
- Related Canadian education or accredited foreign credentials (as specified).
