**Job Summary**:
This position is responsible for managing the afternoon distribution center (DC) operations in Guelph Ontario. The Afternoon Manager oversees staff, training team members and ensures all operations adhere to health and safety protocols and comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

**Position Requirements**:
**Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Certification for Reach Truck, Power Walkies, Order pickers or forklift preferred
- Experience - Minimum 2-3yrs experience within a warehouse operations role.
- Experience - Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience of 20+ team members including team leads in a distribution operations or supply chain environment.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Advanced knowledge/understanding of receiving procedures including Warehouse Management Systems for order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety including Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations for Industrial Establishments, Hazard Recognition and Material Handling Equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Outlook/ Warehouse Management/ Time and attendance software.
- Must prefer to work on the floor, alongside the team.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Promote a positive work environment for team members by effectively communicating and interpreting company policies, coaching and counseling, analyzing and resolving work problems in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies (i.e. open door, progressive discipline, annual review process, effective documentation and follow-up).
- Oversee warehousing activities to ensure processes and procedures are understood and followed; oversee warehouse compliance for inventory management, cycle counting, product handling, and other services as required.
- Plan and schedule DC personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to receive and order fill products in a productive, safe, and cost-efficient manner.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the related Acts and Regulations, including the Unisync safety rules and regulation
- Responsible for providing directions to entire afternoon Shift
- Ensure the team is following company directives and guidelines for productivity and safety
- Monitor attendance of all staff via Dayforce
- Utilize WMS (Warehouse Management System and Blue Cherry) to control and guide throughput
- Provide leadership including day to day employee issues and concerns.
- Work with Day Shift Managers to coordinate continued workflow throughout the duration of afternoon shift
- Actively assists the JHSC with investigations and resolving any past, ongoing and new findings.
- Complete and submit employee incident reports
- Maintain valid first aid certification
- Responsible for ensuring shut of all motorized equipment at end of shift
- Responsible for securing building lock down at end of shift including walk thru checking all doors, docks and lights and entering code for building alarm
- Manage employee vacation and sick days as per company guidelines
- Provide training to all new team members
