Who are we Looking For?
As part of the technical training team with a focus on coordinating training for existing and new academic partners, your collaborative approach to technical training and adaptable attitude towards program development will help to ensure the skills development and training needs of clients, including academic clients are met.
You possess excellent coordination, project management, and group facilitation skills. You are committed to working cooperatively and conscientiously with clients including post-secondary partners across Canada to support the development and/or enhancement of educational programming related to biopharmaceutical manufacturing, bioscience, and biotechnology. You have previous experience of training in a bioprocessing/biomanufacturing environment and familiarity with educational standards, academic processes, educational program development group facilitation, and adult education learning principles.
What Will You be Doing?
As the Biopharma Manufacturing Technical Trainer - Academic Coordinator, you will support the coordination and delivery of national training programs with a focus on training for academic institutions. Reporting to the Director of Technical Training and working in close collaboration with the Director of Academic Programs and Special Projects, you will:
- Deliver bioprocessing training material on-site, off-site and by distance learning
- Liaise with clients from academic and industry to customize training courses and curriculum design
- Liaise with new and existing clients for the development of innovative training and collaborations
- Liaise with clients for promotion and delivery of training
- Support achievement of all training objectives according to curricula and course requirements for academic clients
- Support development of training and project proposals for new and existing clients
- Coordinate development projects between industry and academia
- Work proactively to establish the reputation for excellence with academic institutions and other clients
- Work with the training team to ensure the operation of the facility according to industry standards of compliance
- Provide expert assistance and coaching to new trainees
- Become familiar, encourage understanding, and implement the latest technology in the industry, including learning management systems (LMS)
- Represent at conferences and events, as required, to promote programming and its training facilities
- Other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field
- Previous experience as an educator in an academic setting (technical college or university)
- Experience in curriculum mapping and design
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Ability to develop and foster relationships
- Ability to prioritize work and ensure strict deadlines are met
- Ability to set and implement best practice standards
- Demonstrate an innovative approach to work
- Fluency in both English and French is mandatory
