DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor - Utilities, will provide technical planning, resource scheduling and allocation, cost estimate and control for maintenance related tasks and projects; supervise and provide technical direction to a multi-disciplinary team of powerhouse operators (including Millwrights, Electricians). Team consists of approximately 8-9 tradespeople. Location - Guelph, ON.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide technical planning, scheduling and cost control assistance to maintenance, production, and various other departments.
- Develop or assist in final work sequences, cost estimates and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance to health and safety, food safety, and environmental standards at all times
- Ensure all parts and all services are made readily available.
- Provide technical direction to staff, identify, and resolve problems and recommending improvements in the planning process
- Support contractors by helping resolve issues or escalating actions as necessary, ensure everyone meet safety requirements.
- Participate in the development of the annual maintenance budget for production equipment, powerhouse, utilities, property, and building.
- Maintain, Equipment, repair, and inventory data entry in Internal.
- Direct, supervise and train shift engineers, shift operators and operating assistants, as the case may be, in their work duties and responsibilities for the safe operation and maintenance of the plant as per TSSA requirements.
- Responsible for the safe and effective operation of the Powerhouse, Steam, Refrigeration, Glycol, Compressed Air, CO2 distribution and shall notify the owner or user of the measures taken as per TSSA requirements
- Supervision of maintenance in brewing area and of facility (grounds/building)
- Maintain discipline among the persons employed in the plant who are under his or her control or supervision as per Sleeman standards and TSSA requirements
- Direct work of maintenance contractors and ensure buildings are maintained in good condition in accordance with food safety, C-TPAT, building code standards.
- Ensure that an accurate record of matters that may affect the safe management, operation and maintenance of the plant is made and maintained at all times, as per TSSA requirements
- Support planning of and authorize, approve and be responsible for all maintenance, repairs or work performed within the plant or in connection with associated equipment, as per TSSA requirements.
- Support capital expense project installations, collaborate with engineering.
- Organize and plan the annual shutdown with maintenance team and operations
- Take an active role in department continues improvement and advancement of more proactive maintenance strategies (RCM/TPM etc.)
- Assist in the procurement of materials as needed.
- Perform other related duties, as required

**Requirements**:

- Refrigeration/Boiler certificates, as per TSSA, are an asset (example Chief Engineer, Second Class License)
- Strong knowledge with experience of refrigeration and steam production
- Related technical experience required (trades, technology, engineering)
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with at least 2 years supervisory experience leading a team of multi-disciplined trades in a unionized environment
- Experienced in safe working practices: confined space entry, lockout / tagout, hot work
- Working knowledge of CMMS or similar maintenance systems
- Highly motivated and possess good interpersonal and communication skills to work in a team environment
- Experience in the beverage industry preferred
- Experience with process and packaging equipment preferred
- Experience with: PLC (A.B.), HMI, Control Logix, Ethernet, & D
