**Full-Time Tenant Liaison**

**(1 Year Contract)**

**SUMMARY OF POSITION**

As the Tenant Liaison you will assist in the processes involved in maintaining good relations with our tenants and landlords, and upkeep of our property management system. Duties will include tenant/landlord communication, coordination of maintenance requests, support to the Manager, Property, Maintenance & Development with Support Services.

**HOURS OF WORK**
- The position will work 35 hours a week, 8:30am - 4:30pm

**RATE OF PAY**
- $26.22-33.24 per hour

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Representing the Property Department in service resolution meetings, case conferences providing context on the Residential Tenancies Act, Policies and Procedures
- Investigate complaints, setting action plans through collaborative efforts
- Advocates on behalf of vulnerable tenants while maintaining the best interests of all parties through support, education and follow-up.
- Provides operational support to the Manager of Property in the day-to-day implementation of policies and procedure, requesting income verification an setting rental amounts, preparing notices of eviction, preparing files for legal counsel, and following up on damage arrears, internal housing transfers, and unit inspections
- Communicating with tenants and support staff on compliance around fire code, property and health and safety standards
- Coordinate, show and ensure properties are ready for occupancy, maintaining metrics on vacancy rates and turnover

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS**
- 1-3 years’ experience in the field of Property Management in such areas as Eviction Prevention, Conflict Resolution, Negotiation and appearing at Landlord and Tenant Board tribunal hearings.
- 2-3 years’ experience in the Mental Health field or working with individuals with mental health and addiction issues.
- University undergraduate degree or college diploma in human service or related business field of study.
- Strong working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 and other relevant legislation.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent public relations, interpersonal skills and able to work in a team atmosphere.
- Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, relevant insurance and use of a reliable vehicle.
- Able to successfully complete and provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the position.
- First Aid certification, working knowledge of OHSA, WHMIS
