**Responsibilities**:

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, including Ubuntu and Red Hat.
- Provide technical support for Linux servers, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Manage user accounts and permissions, including file and directory permissions.
- Implement security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to protect Linux servers from cyber threats.
- Ensure Linux servers are up-to-date and secure by regularly installing security patches and updates.
- Automate routine tasks using Bash scripting and other automation tools.
- Perform backups and recovery and ensure data integrity.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning activities.

**Requirements**:

- 3-5 years of experience in Linux administration, specifically with Ubuntu and Red Hat
- Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and KVM.
- Experience with backup software, such as Veeam or Acronis.
- Experience with automation tools, such as Bash and/or other scripting languages.
- Strong knowledge of Linux security principles and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, including DNS, DHCP, and routing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Mentorship - coach, guide, and provide support to junior team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Certifications**:

- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or CompTIA Linux+ certification.
- Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) Level 2 or higher preferred.

**Education**:

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

This position requires the ability to work with cross-functional teams and to provide technical guidance and support to other team members. The Linux Administrator will work collaboratively with other IT departments to ensure server performance and uptime.

This position will ideally be on site at our Whitby, ON location with some remote flexibility
