We currently have an exciting opportunity for a **Full Time** **Manager, Protection Design & Technology **at **Central City **located in **Surrey, British Columbia**

We are looking for applicants with;
- Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice or a related field
- Five (5) years' recent related management experience in a large complex multi-site institutional or campus environment
- (1) year supervisory experience managing protection services, contracted services and security investigations for a large complex multi-site organization
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Certified Health Care Protection Administrator (CHPA) or equivalent designation

Detailed Overview: Responsible for overseeing the daily operational management of the Protection Design and Technology Program for Fraser Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care (collectively, the "Organizations") in a manner consistent with industry best practices ensuring a safe and reliable environment for the delivery of healthcare protection related services. Provides leadership while developing, implementing and administering systems and processes related to the security technology program; manages linkages with external vendors and other Integrated Protection Services such as Photo Identification and Parking; as well as other departments including but not limited to Information Technology, BC Clinical and Support Services Society, Emergency Management, Facilities Maintenance and Operations. Responsibilities:

- Establishes, develops and implements program goals, objectives and operational requirements consistent with the Organizations' strategic and operational objectives; reviews current operations and develops appropriate systems and processes to ensure effective and efficient operation of the program.
- Develops and implements annual operating, capital budget and life cycle costing for the program; responsible for monitoring expenditures, variance analysis and reporting; takes corrective actions as required.
- Manages the mentoring and professional development of assigned staff; supervises designated staff, determines staff schedules, provides work direction and assignment of duties to meet operational requirements; conducts employee performance reviews, coaching session and facilitation of goal setting with the employee; identifies training/educational requirements as needed.
- Oversees the development and continuous improvement of the program; applies planning/scheduling techniques and risk-mitigation strategies to ensure effective delivery of preventive, predictive and responsive maintenance; ensures appropriate use of the computerized maintenance management system.
- Ensures an appropriate and prompt response to related issues and complaints; maintains a computerized inventory of all associated equipment and supplies for the Organizations.
- Develops and administers training/education/promotion programs relating to the use of security related systems and processes for the Organizations; develops implements and administers preventive maintenance programs for applicable associated equipment.
- Procures and manages the work of external service providers, directly or through subordinate coordinators; provides relief coverage for program coordinators.
- Manages assigned projects; liaises with stakeholders and coordinates the activities of staff, consultants, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met and facilities impacts are minimized.
- Oversees the development and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards; ensures compliance by employees and external service providers.
- Participates in the development and activation of emergency management and business continuity plans.
