Reporting to the program manager, we are currently looking for a Community Mental Health Counsellor, Early Psychosis Intervention (CMHC) who will be responsible for supporting the recovery of individuals experiencing first episode psychosis who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Dufferin County.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provice Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) recovery and support functions which may include substance abuse interventions, education, support, and consultation to families and significant others
- Support the teaching of daily living skills, housing, and crisis prevention and intervention
- Identify risk factors and incorporate effective planning to decrease risk
- Establish and implement recovery and crisis plans with each client
- Administer standardized assessment/screening tools where warranted (i.e., OCAN, Columbia SSS, LOCUS)
- Document client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and policies and procedures
- Support strengths in clients that will assist them in achieving goals
- Contribute to and collaboration closely with a team that identifies and supports treatment methods aligning with EPI standards, by providing day to day functional support to meet client’s needs
- Perform additional duties as required/delegated by Management

**Qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary education in Social Services, Health Services, or equivalent
- 2-3 years’ experience providing mental health support to individual who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Strong knowledge of Psychosis (signs, recovery models, prevention techniques) is required
- Strong understanding of the Dufferin Community is an asset
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications and associated side effects
- Knowledge and experience in Justice and Addictions
- A valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license and a vehicle with adequate insurance coverage

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**:

- Hours are typically from Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm but may vary depending on client needs
- Vehicle travel to sites for visits/walk-throughs and open doors as required.
