**Role Expectations & Summary**:
Our Individuals in Day Program are looking for someone to support them throughout their day. Some Individuals may require emotional support from time to time; whereas others may need help to develop life skills. As our Individuals cannot drive themselves, we are looking for someone who is comfortable driving in all quadrants of Calgary. This position requires driving and attending medical appointments, sporting activities, recreational visits such as swimming, etc. Some Individuals own pets, so you must be comfortable around them. In your day, you may interact, accompany, and support two to three Individuals who have diagnoses such as, but not limited to, ADHD, Trauma, Autism, mental health, cerebral palsy, GAD, and other developmental disorders. Also, some of the Individuals may display behavior of concern such as physical or verbal aggression. Our Individuals may also need aid with personal care or G-tubes. As our Day Program is fast-paced, flexibility in the schedule and throughout your day will be important.

**About You**:
You are compassionate, attentive, and passionate about working with people with disabilities. You are comfortable with providing full personal care, participating in social and recreational activities, advocating for the Individual in the community, and encouraging healthy living styles & social interactions. You use a problem-solving approach and can guide with unfamiliar tasks. You are willing to take the time to understand and know your supporting Individuals and act/respond in their best interest while maintaining professional boundaries. You have previous experience working with Individuals with disabilities in a fast-paced Day Program; therefore, you are open to flexibility in schedule. You are willing to be flexible with the needs of Individuals, as you can potentially move from one individual to another to work with them at any given time. You are willing to research, develop, and implement programs to provide for the growth of the Individual. You can easily manage administrative work to create rapport for the Individual.

**Schedule & Benefits**:
This permanent position is 30 hours/week in the North East area of Calgary. the schedule will go from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM but will require flexibility in schedule to stay until 5 PM on some weekdays. The starting pay rate for this position will be $21.19. After a three-month probationary period, you will be eligible for health and dental benefits along with 5 flex days after the six months of employment. As a permanent employee, you will have the opportunity to work in our different group home locations in Calgary.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Certification or Diploma in the Human Services sector or Disability Sector
- Must provide a valid class 5 driver's license and a reliable vehicle with a minimum $2,000,000 liability insurance
- Must provide vehicle insurance with proof of $2 million third-party liability coverage
- Must be comfortable around pets and interact with our Individuals inside swimming pools
- Intermediate in computer skills and administration skills
- One to two years of relevant experience in the human services field would be an asset
- Provide medical, technological, environmental, physical, and behavioural support
- Minimum required training in Emergency First Aid & CPR Level A

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Previous knowledge of developmental disabilities would be an asset
- Previous experience in a fast-paced day program will be an asset
- Previously trained and have knowledge of medication administration
- Relevant training such as Non-violent Crises Intervention, Abuse Prevention Response Protocol, Positive Behavior Supports, etc.
