Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, greet and follow COVID screening protocols and procedures with employees, patients, essential caregivers and visitors at the designated entrance.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensures all staff, patients, visitors, and vendors entering the Home follow proper precautionary measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Provides masks to visitors and staff and ensures hand sanitizer is used as they enter the Home
- Utilizes the screening tools provided to assess eligibility for entrance, including screening for signs and symptoms
- Assists with sanitizing common surfaces at the entrance of the Building
- Demonstrates willingness to co-operate with colleagues, supervisors and members of other departments.
- Demonstrates consideration towards residents, visitors, Home's policies and procedures.
- Ensures the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of residents.
- Demonstrates ability to interpret verbal and written communications and instruction.
- Reports for work on time.
- Appears clean, neat, well-groomed and properly attired according to the dress code for the department.
- Participates in in-services and continuing education.
- Ensures the Health and Safety of residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors by following safe practices and proper procedures.
- Respects and follows the proper lines of authority when reporting events or handling disputes while utilizing process of appeal if necessary.
- Performs any other duties as required that are necessary for the welfare of the residents and efficient operation of the Home.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Proof of initial negative 2-step TB skin test with a negative 1-step TB skin test within the past one (1) year or a negative chest x-ray within the past five (5) years
- Vulnerable Sector Check new upon hire
- Reference Check
- Pleasant and polite demeanor
- Able to handle upset and/or irate individuals with tact and diplomacy
- General knowledge of cleaning methods as required by the Food Services and Housekeeping Departments.
- Able to consistently follow all current COVID screening protocols & procedures
- Able to work autonomously and with direction.
- Good command of the English language, (Read, write, speak)
- Able to sit and stand for long periods of time

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual
Contract length: 6 - 12 months
Part-time hours: 15 - 37.5 per week

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour
