**Corporate Communications Specialist**

We are a fun, forward-thinking marketing & communications team in search of
**Corporate Communications Specialist.** Who are we?  Advocis, The Financial Advisors
Association of Canada, is the association of choice for financial advisors and planners.
With more than 17,000 member-clients across the country, Advocis is the definitive voice of the profession, advocating for professionalism and consumer protection.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of strategic content for both internal and external audiences.

The Corporate Communications Specialist will report to the Director, Marketing &
Communications.

**We’re looking for someone who**:

- Can write original content; meet content needs cross a broad range of channels including web, print, social, video, audio (e.g., podcasts) and live events
- Can prepare corporate presentations and remarks as needed for executive staff
- Can provide creative content to help communicate the value proposition of the Association and its products and services through corporate communications efforts, such as executive presentations, speeches, and op-eds
- Can assist with positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and go-to
- market strategies that differentiates the Association’s products and services
- Enjoys being part of a creative team environment
- Has excellent attention for detail and works well both independently and collaboratively
- Can manage multiple projects at one time while respecting the need for quality and meeting timelines
- Excels at building relationships with stakeholders and provides accurate messaging based the direction of the project
- Understands digital marketing and how to leverage its major promotional channels (e.g., Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc.)
- Engage and present with confidence to cross-functional teams, including senior leaders

**About you**:

- Post-secondary degree, preferably with a Marketing/Communications focus
- Minimum of 3+ years of Copywriting experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write in a range of voices for various media, including print, video, interactive and events
- A knack for finding the salient points in any communications challenge
- Fast-paced work style and ability to execute quickly and completely
- A portfolio that demonstrates both pithy creative and long form writing skills
- Takes initiative, proactively supports team goals and manage project plans and timelines with excellence
- Keen observer of the general business environment, industry and competitive trends, regulatory issues and opportunities, and current affairs as they may relate to Advocis and our corporate communications strategies
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding of communications practices and principles
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Knowledge of financial products and services, as well as an understanding of the advice channel
- Experience in the financial services sector is an asset
