The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra municipal body with jurisdiction over the
territory located north of the 55th parallel, is now looking for a self-motivated and dynamic
individual interested in joining the KRG to work in the capacity of:
**LAND USE PLANNER**

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director-Lands and Environment of the Renewable
Resources, Environment, Lands and Parks Department and in collaboration with the Municipal
Public Works Department, the responsibilities of the Land Use Planner include among others
the following:

Provide technical assistance to the northern villages with regards to land use planning

including:

- Participate in the drafting, revision and implementation of local master plans,

related by-laws and their amendments;
- Plan and coordinate the holding of public consultations sessions, when required;
- Collaborate in the implementation of various strategies for the sustainable

development plan of new expansion zones;
- Assistance in the preparation and analyze of development authorizations and

permits;

Provide information on the _Master Plan for Land Use in the Kativik Region _to the northern
villages, general public, mining companies, scientific groups, outfitters, etc.;

Participate in various environment / lands related projects;

Perform any other related duty required by his Supervisor.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
University degree in land use planning, town planning, geography or related field;

A recognized Planning Technician diploma, with specialized Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) training, would be considered as an asset;

Experience in a municipal work environment will be considered an asset;

Experience of land use planning in northern or aboriginal community will be considered an
asset;

Minimum of two years relevant work experience (drafting regulation, municipal or
regional planning, training municipal officers, etc.);

Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously as well as in a team;

Computer proficiency (_ArcGIS_, AutoCAD, etc.);

Excellent ability to express concepts in plain language and actively listen to needs;

Excellent adaptation skills;

Resourcefulness, independence, and capacity for teamwork;

Solid working knowledge of _Microsoft Office_

Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages:
Inuktitut, English and French;

Willing to travel frequently throughout Nunavik.

**Salary**:Minimum of $52 734/year; maximum of $90 274/year (E9)

**Benefits**:Cost of living differential: Minimum of $8 500/year

Food allowance: Minimum of $3 707/year

Annual leave trips: maximum of 3 per person annually;
Group benefits including Simplified Pension Plan;
Vacation: 20 days annually;
Statutory Holidays: 19 days including 10 during the Christmas break
