Yard Worker

We are two full-service lumber yards and hardware stores serving the Ottawa Valley We are seeking a full time Yard Worker to join our team. The position involves a variety of duties most of which are outdoors and require lifting sometimes heavy or awkward materials. Requires a valid G licence. You will be required to work in both locations on a scheduled basis.
Previous experience in lumber yard or retail environment considered an asset.

Specific Duties include but are not limited to:

- Developing a professional relationship with customers to build trust and loyalty towards the company
- Representing the company in a professional manner and ensure that the customer is treated with the utmost respect and courtesy
- Looking after contractors and cash customers, helping them find product, load/unload vehicles
- Be familiar with the grades, dimensions and species of lumber stocked in the yard
- Operate the yard forklifts once training has been completed
- Operate saws in the cutting room, after proper instruction/training
- Keep the yard and other areas clean and presentable
- Unload transport trucks when they arrive with product for the store. Ensure that all products received match those on the packing slip, and that all products are in good condition
- Deliver materials when necessary

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.68-$22.50 per hour
