Cleaner - Maintenance Person

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will assist our head custodian, We require an experienced cleaner with knowledge of cleaning products, procedures and general maintenance skills.
Daily routines may include cleaning and supplying washrooms, mopping floors, washing windows, sweeping, and dusting of offices. You must be capable of moving multiple tables and chairs to rearrange room settings for our clients. Experience with minor repairs to drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and routine maintenance of building components. Garbage and cardboard to be removed daily and taken to onsite disposal bins.
Maintain cleaning equipment and report any problems seen. Take note of any safety hazards seen in and around the building. Winter maintenance of walkways at building entrance and clearing of ice on overhangs. Clean out cigarette boxes and dispose of any random butts. Summer maintenance includes cleaning the patio and watering flower gardens. Occasional stripping and waxing floors and shampooing any carpeted areas. Safe disposal of hazardous materials.
**Qualifications**:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Grade 12 diploma required.
Minimum 3 years experience in commercial cleaning and building maintenance.
Provide a satisfactory criminal records check (CPIC) prior to hire.
Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
**Additional Requirements**: Ability to speak, read and write English well and understand directions. Frequent bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing items weighing up to 30 pounds. Physical ability to meet the demands of the position without injuring yourself or others. Follow procedures that ensure the security of assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, and furnishings. Customer service skills. Work as part of a team, being open with your communication. Maintain a clean and neat appearance during work hours. May be required to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
