Overview:
We are looking for a FULL-Time Optometric Assistant/Eyewear Consultant for our practice in Barrie. We are looking for someone who wants to be in the Optometric Field long term - someone creative and willing to learn, with a bubbly, outgoing personality who loves to work with people At this time we are not looking to hire students. Job responsibilities include reception, pretesting, working with doctors to educate patients, and help patients choose stylish and appropriate frames and lenses from our optical boutique, also includes working in finishing lab, using edging equipment and ordering lenses. In office training provided.

**Duties**:

- Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits
- Dispense eyeglasses and guide patient through frame and lens selection
- Repairs and adjustments on patients glasses
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry

**Skills**:

- Previous experience working as Optometric Assistant or retail sales environment is not essential but an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently

We offer competitive pay based on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time permanent position with required work hours: Monday through Thursday 8:15 am to 6:00pm and Fridays 8:00 to 12:00 pm.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
