**Environmental DNA (eDNA) Projects Coordinator**

**Job summary**

**Main tasks and responsibilities**
- Responsible for the coordination, execution, and analyses of eDNA-themed projects.
- Liaises with collaborators on various eDNA research projects to plan and execute eDNA analyses.
- Generates statements of work for projects, as needed.
- Manages a database for project tracking and progress monitoring.
- Ensures invoices are issued upon project completion and monitors invoice payment completion.
- Organizes and executes high quality eDNA sample analysis in a timely manner to effectively meet project completion timelines.
- Prepares DNA samples and analyzes them using qPCR or dPCR with appropriate templates, software, and statistical tests.
- Trains and supervises research assistants or students.
- Designs and validates primers and probes for qPCR analysis.
- Assists the Laboratory Coordinator in reagent surveillance and ordering.
- Supports lab cleanliness, safety, and equipment maintenance.
- Participates in developing and writing protocols and reports.
- Participates in weekly team and regular group meetings.
- Temporarily performs the duties of a related position or exceptionally the duties of a lower position when required in addition to the tasks and responsibilities listed above.

**Normal requirements and special skills**

**Education**
- An undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology, or relevant program.

**Experience**
- Has a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Molecular Biology.

**Others**
- Demonstrated proficiency in experimental protocols in Molecular Biology.
- Excellent communication of the English language, spoken and written.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent ability to work to deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to listen, work in a team, and mobilize students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a healthy and inclusive workplace.
- Ability to share knowledge to teach experimental protocols.
- Good judgement, excellent adaptability, and good team spirit.

- Comfort with bioinformatics techniques is an asset.
- Proficiency in Zoom and MS Word, Excel, and Teams is an asset.
- Experience with MS Project or other project management software is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
