**Overview of Position**:
The Drafter should be a skilled and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for using AutoCAD and Revit design software to create detailed drawings and layouts, calculate dimensions and material requirements, and describe production methods. The drafter will work closely with the Design Manager to gather product and structural requirements and designs. They also prepare diagrams, maps, and layouts to illustrate workflow and review rough sketches with the team. The Drafter’s responsibilities include identifying potential operational issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Must have proficient experience with REVIT.
- Proficient at creating detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Must have rendering capabilities.
- Generate detailed engineered drawings with mínimal design perimeters provided by the engineer.
- Calculating dimensions, weight limitations, and requirements in materials.
- Design diagrams, maps, and layouts to illustrate workflow.
- Prepare and review rough sketches and review them with the team.
- Describing production methods.
- Create construction drawings as well as shop production drawings.
- Project coordination - scheduling, purchasing, and supervision of preconstruction activities.
- Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Study and analyze proposals received.
- Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
- Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards of Cobra.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 2+ years experience with construction drawings
- Completion of a one
- to two-year college program in drafting or Completion of a three
- to four-year apprenticeship program or four to five years of related experience plus completion of college or industry courses in drafting.
- Or; BSc in Engineering, Architecture or degree from technical college
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction/engineering degree, or an appropriate field.
- Hands on experience with AutoCAD 2D / 3D and BIM
- Hands on experience with Autodesk Revit
- Bluebeam training and experience
- Ability to read and interpret building specifications, blueprints, and as-builds.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.)
- Foundation and site layouts.
- Shop structural steel fabrication drawings.
- General residential housing drafting.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Please submit proven drawing samples / drafting samples
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills.
- Good math skills.
- Time management and ability to identify and meet deadlines.
- Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current.
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.

- Ability to work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision.
- Collaborative in dealing with customers and fellow employees.
- Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.

**Work conditions**:
Position can be hybrid, working from home or in office setting at Cobra Enterprises head office located in Beausejour Manitoba Industrial Park, may be exposed to loud noise and hazards associated with the construction industry. Use of Personal Protection Equipment may be required (e.g., hard-hat, safety boots, etc.).

**Salary**: $41,600.00-$66,560.00 per year

**Experience**:
