This is a temporary position which may be for a period of up to 24 months, offers a competitive compensation package and is located on-site in Tiverton, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Finance department in carrying out the accountabilities in accordance with applicable legislation, programs, policies, procedures and agreements.- Maintain a professional awareness in relation to current accounting practice, IFRS/GAAP, and general business environment and the utility industry and be able to communicate impacts and implications throughout the business.- Support management reporting requirements (e.g., internal financial statements, performance reports, Statistics Canada, other internal reports and ad-hoc reports) utilizing financial systems and other inputs.- Support controls oversight and compliance efforts.- Conduct detailed analysis of financial information, systems and processes as required.- Work with external auditors to efficiently support audit procedures and requests.- Maintain desktop procedures documentation current on system maintenance and support activities.- Support simplification and improvement efforts.- Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Theoretical knowledge and relevant experience within the designated discipline is required.- Demonstrated ability to achieve task results consistent with requirements for safety, quality, quantity, timeliness, and resource allowance.- Able to demonstrate capability related to; analytical thinking & problem solving, work planning & organizing, and communication skills.- Demonstrated motivation and commitment to achieving organizational goals and to continual improvement.- Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others, and to convey clear expectations and goals.- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team and to lead others towards common goals.-
- Requires good interpersonal skills and knowledge of communication techniques.- Requires good communication skills, both oral and written, to facilitate effective communications with others.

Education and Experience- This knowledge is normally considered to be acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university education in a relevant discipline, or attainment of a professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA) or by having the equivalent level of education such as an MBA.- A professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA) is preferred.- Requires experience in an Audit, Accounting or Financial environment to achieve a level of proficiency sufficient to understand all aspects of the Corporate Financial functions.- A period of over 4 years and up to 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
