Sanitation Technician

**Introduction**

The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for ensuring compliance standards are met across sanitation practices at our Aylmer facility. Sanitation Technicians perform cleaning and oversee the cleanliness of the facility, ensuring that sanitation practices meet Good Production Practices (GPP).

**Position Overview**
- _ Participate in the cleaning and sanitization of production areas of the facility according to Sanitation, QA and HSE SOPs and work instructions._
- _ Prevent cross contamination of product, equipment and product contact surfaces while performing sanitation duties_
- _ Work safely with hazardous chemicals and cleaning agents being used - ensure to follow all safety procedures on site including donning of all appropriate PPE (respirator, goggles, etc.)_
- _ Maintain all sanitation tools and equipment - including maintaining inventory and ensuring fit for use_
- _ Participate in the cleaning and sanitization of production equipment_
- _ Prepare cleaning solutions_
- _ Verification and documentation and data entry for historical sanitation data_
- _ Provide training, support and verification of work for all external sanitation employees as required._
- _ Promote and enforce Health and Safety regulations and policies_
- _ Maintain, audit and approve all cleaning and sanitation logs_
- _ Lead in working with production and QA teams to ensure sanitation requirements are met as per GPP including but not limited to: updates on sanitation SOP and batch records, completing RCA and deviations, lead sanitation process improvement projects, etc._
- _ Ensure 100% compliance with QA requirements during day-to-day activities including self-management on all required training._
- _ Managing waste in accordance with the Cannabis Act and all other local applicable guidelines._
- _ Other job duties as assigned_

**_ Qualifications_**
- _ High School Diploma or equivalent_
- _ Minimum 1 year of experience working in a sanitation role within a regulated environment_
- _ Previous experience working with cleaning chemicals and agents required_
- _ Ability to read and correctly interpret documents such as safety rules, regulations, and safety data sheets_
- _ Strong ability to prioritize tasks in order to achieve daily sanitation requirements_
- _ Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 25 lbs_
- _ Previous work experience with a Canadian Licensed Producer (LP) or knowledge of the Cannabis Act, GPP and GMP is an asset_
- _ Must be able to work various shift schedules as required._
- _ Must be able to don all required PPE (respirators, goggles, etc.)_
- Must be able to work shift schedule (day shifts only): Sun - Sat 7:30am to 8pm, 4 shifts 1st week, 3 shifts the following week; alternating.

**_SCHEDULE_**
- _ “Half Continental” rotating shift schedule (Days ONLY): 4 days one week, 3 days the following week_
- _ Sunday through to Saturday (7-day operation). Hours are 7:30am - 8:00pm (12.5 hours)_
- _ Breaks are: three 30 min breaks to be broken up based on team needs and discussed with Supervisor/Manager_
