**Department Overview**

The Communications department provides a range of communications advice, counsel and support to the enterprise for a variety of internal and external audiences across various mediums. The team performs tasks ranging from crafting timely and relevant communications, to working with the media, traditional and social influencers, customers/consumers and business partners to ensure balanced, factual coverage of TD Bank Group. Communications professionals are committed to provide word class services by having a thorough understanding specialized knowledge of their department. - A talented storyteller and communicator, with exceptional writing and editing skills, and enthusiasm about the D&I space
- Creative and resourceful, able to use various storytelling and social media tools to create engaging content for employee and external audiences
- A strategic thinker, with experience developing comprehensive communications plans and impactful messaging
- Skilled at working with media, with a clear understanding of media relations tactics and emerging D&I trends to help tell TD's story in new and compelling ways
- A strong relationship manager, able to collaborate well with others and effectively support various lines of businesses across the Bank to deliver priorities and identify communications opportunities
- A strong project manager, able to manage timelines and deliverables for multiple priorities independently
- Open minded and curious about what's happening in the world around them with a desire to continually learn and eye for uncovering the best stories

**Job Requirements**
- Three or more years' communications experience in communications in a corporate or agency setting or related field such as journalism. Experience in Diversity and Inclusion is a strong asset
- Experience developing and executing innovative communications plans to effectively drive business objectives
- Proven experience providing communications advice and issues management to business partners and senior executives
- Exceptional writing and editing skills and a passion for storytelling
- Proven track record in both proactive and reactive media relations. Experience working with key journalists who cover business and/or D&I topics is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and timelines and navigate a complex organization
- Experience in exercising judgment and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive situations and in providing sound communication counsel to senior executives
- Resourceful and creative, with superior attention to detail and an ability to deliver high quality work under pressure
- An entrepreneurial and adaptable mindset, ability to solve problems creatively
