GB Stone Inc. currently has an opening for a full-time forklift operator. This is an opportunity for a year round position with benefits after probation period. Previous forklift experience in the landscape supply industry is an asset.

**Business**

**Objective**

As a member of the GB Stone team, the Forklift Operator will operate equipment to load customer vehicles (trucks, trailers.) with concrete and natural stone products.

The forklift operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the forklift, which will consist of preventative maintenance before and after each shift for the day. Preventative maintenance may include, but not limited to greasing, cleaning the machine, and conducting thorough inspection.

This position will also consist of general labourer duties such as general site housekeeping (i.e. moving boxes, shoveling snow, sweeping, etc.), hand loading customers vehicles, operate a front end loader, clean up, other ad-hoc duties required by management for the efficient operations of the supply yard.

Typical shift is approximately 7:00 am to 5:00 pm - Monday to Friday, with a Saturday commitment in the Spring/Summer months. Current winter hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Location: 816 Mayfield Road Caledon, Ontario.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide excellent customer service when loading and assisting customers in the yard.
- Safety: Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, implementation, and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents. Administer and promote safety policies, processes, and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all guidelines.
- Ensure the yard and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional.
- Equipment operation
- Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Maintenance: Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment is properly maintained. Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize the amount of downtime incurred during shipping (i.e. greasing).
- Other: Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the site. Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the site is presentable.

**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Maintenance: daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspection process, prioritize deficiencies as they occur

**Qualifications**:

- Education & Work Experience: _
- Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Heavy equipment operation experience preferred
- Valid “G” license
- Forklift experience **we can provide on site forklift licensing if necessary**
- Knowledge & Skills: _
- Specific equipment training
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
