Building Maintenance Technician

**Job Summary**

This role is responsible for the preventative and incidental building repair and maintenance including building systems and temperature control. The role must be able to work in a safety conscious environment and follow all GMPs. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and must be able to work independently but also as part of a Team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Performing various tasks related to building maintenance (installing lights, replacing light bulbs, minor repairs to doors and windows, locksmithing, minor plumbing repairs) outlet and emergency lights.
- Performing all necessary minor repairs requested as well as other manual tasks.
- Installing and/or repairing toilets, sinks, faucets in the multiple washrooms throughout the facility.
- Installing and replacing drywall, floor tiles and doors
- Support for the moving and repairing of furniture.
- Performing the monthly emergency lights and pull station checks.
- Running of the sprinkler equipment, weekly.
- Performing the Ladder Inspection every 6 months.
- Checking the heating and Air Conditioning Systems twice a week. Changing filters, cleaning dust and greasing.
- Performing a monthly check on the building roof.
- Inspecting, fixing, and replacing warehouse racking system
- Repairing of wooden skids/pallets
- Performing other duties as assigned by management.

**Requirements**:

- Proven maintenance experience.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Must have effective English language communication skills (listening, speaking, and understanding).
- Skilled in the use of common hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
- Experience performing routine maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
- Strong organizational and follow up skills.

- Following all in-house Food Safety policies and procedures
- Participation in all required Food Safety and Health and Safety Training.

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
