**SUMMARY OF DUTIES**:
Contributes to the financial and accounting management of the organization based on their assignment to either the Expense and Accounts Payable team or the Payroll, Revenue and Corporate Accounting team. Produces various periodic and ad hoc reports for accounting processing or verification, statistics and proactive disclosure. Interprets policies, directives, regulations, etc., and provides support, training and advice to staff members. Performs accounting and administrative operations such as audits and reconciliations; identifies issues, proposes corrective actions and performs follow-ups.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participates in month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting procedures by performing activities required by their position, such as calculating accruals, financial provisions, fringe benefit rebates, discounts and royalties to associations.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and recommends corrections, if necessary.
- Processes and reconciles transactions in financial or related information systems as assigned; verifies data integrity against supporting documentation, performs in-depth analysis and actively participates in problem solving; approves financial transactions (Section 33, 34) in accordance with the Financial Administration Act (FAA).
- Interprets policies, regulations and directives relevant to their assignment, such as those related to acquisition-card programs, travel cards, the travel system and compensation programs in effect.
- Prepares or participates in the production of various internal or external periodic reports.
- Implements relevant internal controls, such as departure controls.
- Prepares and updates administrative procedures in accordance with Treasury Board policies, regulations and guidelines and NFB internal regulations.
- Participates in initiatives to continuously improve the tools, documentation, work processes and services offered by the Financial Operations sector.
- Helps replace officers and accounting technicians on their team during heavy workload periods, holidays or absences.
- Supports or assumes responsibility for the processing of other requests attributable to a Junior Accounting Analyst, as required.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree in an appropriate discipline such as Finance, Administration or Accounting;
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role or relevant combination of education and experience;
- Experience analyzing and interpreting contracts, collective agreements and legal clauses;
- Strong knowledge of computerized data processing;
- General understanding of the procedures used in a financial management department;
- Bilingualism in both official languages (French and English), both orally and in writing.
