Counterbalance Operator

We're looking for a skilled forklift operator who can work at heights and has a mechanical inclination. You'll be responsible for receiving the product, operating the cement packing machine, and ensuring the cleanliness of the surrounding area. You'll also need to count, and record finished and rejected bags of cement, adhere to company policies and procedures, and work safely using company-issued PPE. Additionally, you'll be expected to complete tasks in a timely fashion, perform various administrative tasks, and work independently or in a team.
**Location**: HWY 52 and HWY 5 West (Dundas Ontario)
**Shift**: 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
**Pay**: $23.00 per hour
**Contract**: 1 to 2 month contract
**Responsibilities**:
- Receive product and operate cement packing machine based on established Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness of loading machines, packing machines, floors, and surrounding areas.
- Count and record finished and rejected bags of cement.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and work safely using company-issued PPE.
- Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
- Complete tasks in a timely fashion as per Standard Operating Guidelines.
- Perform various administrative tasks related to production reports, timekeeping, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Tow motor certification is an asset but not mandatory.
**Skills**:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of the cement production process.
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Experience in operating hand tools, tow motor/forklift, and air tools.
- Positive work ethic, attitude, and job performance.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
**Requirements**:
- May work above shoulder level with power and/or hand tools weighing 40kgs or less.
- Must meet physical requirements of the position, including mobility, vision, hearing, and sense of smell and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties performed.
- May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces; twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl; grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 40lbs or less.
