JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor, Cybersecurity is responsible for supervision, development, planning, implementation and protection of the organization’s cybersecurity posture by employing a range of technologies and processes to prevent, detect and manage cyber threats across data and infrastructure platforms including both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) environments.

The Supervisor, Cybersecurity, designs, implements, coordinates and measures the monitoring and administration of internal security services, controls and programs to ensure that a high level of Cybersecurity is maintained for Hydro Ottawa. The Supervisor, Cybersecurity is also responsible for the administration and operation of critical systems that contain sensitive information. Additionally, the Supervisor, Cybersecurity performs and oversees a variety of day to day Cybersecurity operational duties.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, providing guidance and support in all aspects of their roles including providing advice, coaching, and performance management development, training, recruitment, selection, performance management and administration of the collective agreement as applicable- Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and integrating cybersecurity initiatives.- Research the latest cybersecurity trends and provide recommendations from a strategic, tactical and operational perspective within the following core Cybersecurity principles:

- Manage and operate Hydro Ottawa’s Google Workspace, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Okta deployments to ensure that confidential information is managed throughout its lifecycle including overseeing day-to-day activities and ensure that issues and incidents are handled appropriately- Advise stakeholders on current and emerging cyber threats, attacks, and security vulnerabilities- Plan, organize, implement and operationalize cybersecurity technology solutions including endpoint, network security, vulnerability management, SIEM, access and identity management and others. the role also requires the individual to report on effectiveness of technology solutions- Provide input to the manager regarding skill set gaps for direct reports and recommend training plans- Coach and advise cybersecurity technology users regarding functionality and useability- Provide leadership in areas of cybersecurity to stakeholders and direct reports on projects and initiatives, support the planning of work, monitor progress against milestones and ensure quality of work and deliverables meets expected standards- Investigate current cybersecurity challenges facing the organization/groups and provide recommendations that addresses both business needs and reduces cybersecurity risks- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user needs and requirements and recommend IT/OT system cybersecurity improvements- Research, identify and articulate complex technical issues, develop requirements, drive solutions, convey results, and to present to the Manager, Cybersecurity and other stakeholders- Conduct network traffic analysis and ancillary sources, correlate with other technology solutions to identify the sources of network intrusions, recommend and implement protections- Conduct architecture and design reviews of new technology solutions driven from the business to ensure that cybersecurity controls and best practices are accounted for and incorporated- Conduct forensic analysis using tools, techniques and procedures currently in place at Hydro Ottawa- Conduct both IT and OT network penetration testing-
- Execute cyber maturity and gap assessments against industry standards such as NIST CSF and others and present material at a strategic and tactical level- Assess and create cyber policies, practices and governance- Serve as the point of contact with current Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) on incident triaging including log analysis- Correlate security events and investigate security incidents identify, investigate, remediate or escalate as required. Analyze security breaches to identify the root cause- Proactively identify opportunities to improve security operations processes, such as improvements to logging, monitoring or incident response processes and propose solutions to the Manager, Cybersecurity- Establish, run, analyze and communicate the results of cor
