About the Role
The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for the financial analysis of research contracts and amendments, revenue recognition and analysis of pass-through expenses. The Financial Analyst will also participate in the month-end process and is involved in our continuous improvement efforts, automation and other special projects.
What You'll Do Here

**Financial analysis of research contracts and amendments**:

- Analyze study contract budgets and pass-through expenses and coordinate with the contracts team for study amendments;
- Analyze and track the inventory of biological matrices including inventory items and consumption for pass-through expenses;
- Provide detail of incurred fees and pass-through expenses to accounting technicians for invoicing;
- Analyze the unbilled pass-through reports, ensure that items are billed in a timely manner and clean regularly unbillable items;
- Ensure the accuracy of information between the different systems (ERP, project accounting, CRM) for financial analysis purposes;
- Follow-up with subsidiaries for missing purchase orders or inter-site contracts and review the inter-site purchase orders;
- Communicate with project and contracts leads to resolve issues.

**Month-end closing process**:

- Financial analysis and preparation of journal entries for revenue recognition including:

- storage of biological samples;
- storage of Investigational products,
- sample kits;
- Regulatory submissions on a percentage of completion basis;
- Pass-through expenses (laboratory supplies, shipment costs, clinical ECD software, etc.)
- Analyze materials and supplies expense general ledger to identify pass-through expenses and bulk purchases to be reclassed to inventory;
- Consolidation and analysis of WIP and Deferred schedules and record an adjusting journal entry;
- Analysis of postponed or cancelled studies and record adjusting entry.

Process improvement
- Collaborate in the implementation of a new ERP;
- Participate in the development of new financial analysis;
- Identify automation opportunities and contribute to their development.

What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and social skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to adapt.
- Bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written).
- Proficiency in Excel - Intermediate or advanced level.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP or Workday (an asset).
