Busy Music School is looking for a drum instructor available on Wednesdays and/or Fridays to start. We enjoy working with flexible teachers who can teach a variety of music styles and are comfortable creating personalized lesson plans to meet every student where they are.

**Creativity and kindness **are greatly valued in our team, as well we as the ability to play and teach a second instrument (piano, ukulele, guitar, etc) at least at a beginner level.

**Requirements**:

- Post Secondary Music training and/or equivalent teaching experience
- Ability to teach **young children** effectively and knowledge in different music styles. Classical, pop, rock, jazz, etc.
- Flexibility as a teacher. **Being able to adapt** to every student's learning needs and style.
- Critical thinking, **Patience, **good time management and imaginative/creative thinking are more important to us than your technical ability as a guitarist.
- **Ability to communicate** effectively with parents and staff about student progress and areas of improvement.
- Familiarity with modern music and ability to transcribe it on the spot if needed.
- Thorough knowledge of music theory.
- Ability to play and teach a **second instrument** is an asset.

Compensation is based on teaching experience.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 5-12 per week

**Salary**: $31.00-$40.00 per hour
