Cabling Jetter

Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Jetter will assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses to support the Expercom Civil Team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret blueprints or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance to the Company's health and safety policy;
- Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper or fibre optic telecommunication cables;
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment;
- Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays;
- Work with underground cable placing equipment (Jetting equipment);
- Understand handling principles of fibre optic cable and micro fibre cable;
- Trouble shoot networking and design plans and identify roadblocks prior to installation;
- Ability to track and manage materials related to work function;
- Performs other duties as required;

**Qualifications**:

- 6 months of previous experience in a cable jetting role preferred
- Experience working with Jetting equipment an asset
- Electrical Techniques or Electrical Technician schooling is an asset
- Must have a valid “G” Driver’s License or equivalent and a good driver’s abstract
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team
- Basic knowledge of fibre optic cable prepping and splicing an asset
