ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Our Day Hosts, General Attendants and Night Attendants play an invaluable role in our community by
responding to emergencies throughout the residence, keeping the safety and well-being of our residents
their number one priority. In addition, our Day Hosts, General Attendants and Night Attendants play a
critical role in ensuring our infection and sanitation control measures are maintained. Without you, we
wouldn't be able to keep our residence's sparkling clean Your passion for cleanliness and eye for detail
helps to set our residence apart. Under the direction of the Health and Wellness Manager, our Day Hosts,
Night Attendants and General Attendants are responsible for performing housekeeping or janitorial tasks
in an efficient manner, and responding to emergencies as they may arise with due consideration for the
needs and comfort of the residents.
BACKGROUND/OUALIFICATIONS:
r Minimum of grade l2 education required.
- Prior experience in a similar housekeeping/janitorial position within a senior living community is
preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language.
r Attention to detail is essential in ensuring cleaning tasks are performed to standard.
r Dependable, responsible and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and
independently. Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the
residence.
r Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time-management skills required.
r Must be comfortable working with disinfectant and cleaning chemicals as well as hazardous
materials.
- Comfortable working with various technologies.
r Be able to work with mínimal supervision and demonstrate a strong ability to problem solve as well
as make decisions in an efficient manner.
- A resident-oriented individual, whose visions and values align with those of the residence.

Kev Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in and adheres to continuous quality improvement standards.
Adheres to infection prevention control protocols to ensure resident safety and wellbeing.
Day host perform daily and weekly cleaning, laundry, and vacuuming of resident suites as required in
accordance with established procedures, schedules, and job routines.
Cleans all common areas according to established policies, procedures, and schedules.
informs direct supervisor when supplies of housekeeping/janitorial inventory are low.
Performs additional cleaning and sanitizing as required, in accordance with established procedures and
schedules.
Picks up and disposes of garbage from waste containers daily.
Assists with the operations of laundry service including washing, drying, folding, sorting and delivery, as
required.
Ensures housekeeping and laundry rooms, closets, equipment, and carls are kept in a clean, safe, and
sanitary condition.
Provides general assistance to residents, as required.
Report any equipment or maintenance concerns within the residence to direct supervisor or designate.
Completes Occupational Health and Safety audits, as assigned.
Responsible for room service delivery, and other deliveries to residents, as required.
Conducts wellness checks at specified times to ensure well-being of residents daily.
Day Host and General Attendant follow up with residents who have not reported downstairs for mealtime
to ensure well-being.
Conducts medication reminders to residents when scheduled.
Required to respond to emergency calls in accordance with our policies and procedures.
During overnight shift, responsible for conducting regular rounds of the building, and safety checks.
Following procedure in the case of an emergency.
Performs role, utilizing positive communication u,ith residents and families.

Key Responsibilities - continued
Maintains effective communication, both written and verbal with co-workers. Uses the appropriate lines
of communication with supervisory staff.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Health and Wellness Manager or designate.
Complies with all corporate policies and procedures.
Completes all required mandatory training/education.
Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and
Workplace Hazardous Material Information System/Globally Harmonized System. This includes
recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable
legislation, as well as participating in in-services and fire drills.
