**The School**

The role is within our School of Applied Sciences and Technology. The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming, we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science.

**The Role**

The Humanities and Social Sciences Department requires a Political Science Instructor to teach the following courses
- PO1010 - Introduction to Political Studies, Ideas and Forms of Government
- PO1020 - Introduction to Political Institutions, Processes and Problems
- PO2210 - Introduction to the Canadian Political Environment
- PO2610 - Introduction to International Relations I: Security, War and Peace

Job Requirements

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

An MA in Political Science is required with a PhD preferred. Evidence of successful instruction of undergraduate courses in Political Science is also required. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

- Knowledge of current educational technologies (e.g., videoconferencing, learning management systems) is desired;
- Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action;
- The ability to teach both online and classroom-based courses;
- Student-focused;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
- A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
