We take pride in our accreditation by Accreditation Canada. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate **Driver Companion** to provide transportation and companionship services for our clients. The primary responsibility of the Driver Companion is to ensure our clients' safety, comfort and well-being, while fostering a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere. The role involves driving our clients to various appointments, activities, and outings in a reliable and courteous manner.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Safe Transportation: Safely drive clients to and from appointments, social activities, and any other destinations as required.

2. Assist with Mobility: Provide assistance to our clients while entering and exiting the vehicle, including the use of mobility aids or devices.

3. Companionship: Engage in friendly conversations, offer emotional support, and create a pleasant and interactive environment for our clients during the rides.

4. Route Planning: Plan and select the most convenient and efficient routes for the client's trips, considering traffic conditions and the client's safety.

5. Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and safe, including regular maintenance and refueling.

6. Time Management: Punctually arrive for scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs, allowing for extra time if needed, and coordinate the client's schedule accordingly.

7. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond calmly and effectively in case of medical emergencies or any unforeseen situations.

9. Respect Privacy: Respect Miss Daisy's privacy and confidentiality, and follow any specific instructions or requests provided by her or her family.

10. Stay Informed: Stay updated on Miss Daisy's health and mobility needs, ensuring her comfort and safety during transportation.

11. Adaptability: Be adaptable and flexible in accommodating Miss Daisy's changing needs or preferences as her circumstances evolve.

**Qualifications**:
1. Valid driver's license and a clean driving abstract.

2. Compassion, patience, and empathy when working with an elderly individual.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures is a plus.

5. Familiarity with the Comox area and road networks.

6. Physical ability to assist with mobility and vehicle-related tasks.

7. Reliable, punctual, and responsible.

8. Respectful and professional demeanor.

**Work Environment**:
This is a part-time position, depending on your availability. Work hours may vary, including weekdays and occasional weekends. **The work environment primarily involves driving our clients in your own vehicle.
