**Reports to**: Larval supervisors

**Schedule**: 4 days on 3 days off, 10 hours a day

Golden Eagle Sablefish (GESF), a subsidiary of Aquilini Group, operates a hatchery on Salt Spring Island dedicated to sustainable raised fish, ocean stewardship, and our First Nations partnerships. **Position Details**:
The larval technician will be involved in raising the fish from when they are ponded from incubation straight through to when they are finally loaded into fish tanks headed to the saltwater sites. These tasks largely consist of feeding, and general husbandry duties, daily documentation and using our software programs as well. Cross training in other departments would also be available and required after a period of time.

**Required Experience and Qualifications**:

- Self-motivated and reliable
- An individual who is a team player who gets along with others
- Detail-oriented and trustworthy
- Experience not required but would be an asset
- Preferably living in Salt Spring island, Duncan, Crofton, Ladysmith, Saanich or surrounding areas would be beneficial

**Work environment**:

- Compensation starts at $23.00/hour based on experience
- Full health benefits package, including life, LTD, extended health, and dental benefits after 3 month probation
- BC Ferries card and work gear provided
