**AGRIS Co-operative Ltd.**is looking for a full-time **soil sample operator **to join our Chatham-Kent team supporting our farmer-owners and customers across the Chatham-Kent areas. As part of the operations team, you will assist in the delivery of agriculture innovation and services in the communities we serve, to enhance farmer-owner profitability.

**What will you be responsible for**:

- Provide an exceptional customer experience at every interaction.
- Support the AGRIS Digital Ag Strategy through the ongoing collection and organization of farmer data of customers >farms >fields >boundaries and acres.
- This role is key in supporting 4R Nutrient Stewardship and precision planning through soil sampling, SoilOptix and ensuring there are current soil samples to support validated recommendations.
- The sampling season will be planned via the use of the GIS data base.
- Requires the operation of a soil sampler during the sampling season to implement the sampling plan by customer >farm >field.
- Together these activities form a high-tech approach to serving customers.
- Part of the requirement is to is manage the customer content on their myFS portal.
- Depending on the season, this role will support other areas across the Chatham-Kent hub; some of these duties may include:

- Crop observation and working with crop sales specialists to manage the MiField demonstration plots-part of our AgValidity program.
- Accept orders for products or services and initiate any actions required to effect timely delivery.
- Ensure all products ordered or shipped is accurate and completed according to schedule prior to leaving the co-operative.
- Providing support in the warehouse and crop protection warehousing in managing and monitoring inventory levels and shrinkage levels, ensure adequate supplies are on hand to support customer purchasing. In consultation with the manager, complete inventory counts and replace inventory as required.
- The safe operations of any assigned vehicle(s).
- Ensures that safe loading and unloading techniques are followed.
- Maintains truck and associated equipment in a safe, clean, and workable condition.
- Maintains current legislated and company required licenses, permits, etc.
- Has good knowledge of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, practices safe driving techniques and maintains a good driving record.
- Provides general labour and operates equipment safely and efficiently, as well as, providing good housekeeping inside and outside the facility as required.
- Performs other tasks associated with the handling of seed, crop protection, fertilizer and grain handled by the co-operative.
- Understands and follows AGRIS health, safety and environmental policies and procedures required in case of an accident; follows detailed procedures as stipulated.

**Requirements for this job**:

- Preference given to individuals with an understanding of the agriculture industry.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors. Physical activity includes walking and climbing, loading, and unloading trucks, inspecting equipment, driving, etc.
- Ability to work irregular hours.
- Work as required at any of the locations to support farmer-owners and branch needs across the Chatham-Kent regions.
- May have or be able to obtain various licenses, permits, and certificates as required (e.g., pesticide and professional applicator designations).
- DZ license and heavy equipment experience is an asset but not a requirement.
- Preference given to individuals with licensed and experience with the operation of a drone for gathering in-season images on demand, emerging corn populations and NDVI images at critical growth stages and creating a customer report and following through.
