**Description**:Literature has always provided a place for the imaginative exploration of science, technology, and the physical universe. For students interested in literary treatments of science and scientific problems, concerns, and methods. Assumes no background in the methods and techniques of literary scholarship. This course may not be counted toward any English program.

**Estimated course enrolment**: 160 students

**Estimated TA support**: 360 TA hours

**Class schedule**: Mondays 1-2pm, Wednesdays 1-3pm

**Sessional Dates of Appointment**: September 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023

**Salary**:
Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90

Sessional Lecturer I - Long term : $9,930.79

Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77

Sessional Lecturer II- Long term: $10,326.62

Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76

Sessional Lecturer III- Long term: $10,570.02

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

**Minimum qualifications**:PhD degree in English

**Preferred qualifications**:Relevant teaching experience preferred

**Description of duties**: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus and lectures, delivering lectures, developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams, holding regular office hours, supervising TA(s).
