**Salary**: $22.74 per hour

**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY**

The Dock Person is responsible for performing daily tasks for the efficient and effective operation of the Tobermory Terminal location. The incumbent works closely with terminal Ticket Agents to ensure the smooth, effective, safe, and efficient coordination of vehicular traffic and loading vessels.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITY**
- The primary job duties and responsibilities for the Dock Person include but are not limited to the following:

- Maintaining safe and clean access to and from the vessel for passengers and vehicles to the terminal and property.
- General maintenance tasks to the terminal, equipment, and grounds.
- Maintaining strict compliance with all safety regulations regarding procedures and equipment as outlined in company policies and procedures.
- Receive traffic, measure, tag, and complete necessary forms for processing.
- Marshaling vehicles in loading and standby zones as instructed by the Ticket Agent.
- Assisting and directing passengers during loading and unloading, including those who may require extra assistance as directed.
- Securing and casting off the vessel as directed.
- Engaging/disengaging the passenger ramp and raising/lowering the vehicle transfer bridge as directed.
- Perform, daily, weekly, or monthly checks of the terminal or equipment as directed.
- Perform lawn and landscaping maintenance.
- Participate in drills, emergency response plan duties, oil response duties as directed.
- Perform any other duty as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND WORK EXPERIENCE**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience directing traffic an asset.
- Marine Sector experience an asset
- Customer service experience

**EFFORT (PHYSICAL AND SENSORY DEMANDS)**

.Minimum corrected visual acuity of 20/40 (6/12) in both eyes.
- Near Visual acuity of 20/50 or 8 Point
- Peripheral vision of 150 degrees of continuous horizontal vision with no defects 60 degrees above and below the midline.
- No double vision
- No active pathology which would cause known deterioration of vision
- Lift and pack merchandise up to 50 lbs.
- Pull heavy cables up to 50 feet.
- Stand consistently for 2 hours.
- Walk long distances (500 meters)
- Able to climb a flight of stairs.
- Ability to climb a 12’ ladder.
- Able to read 12pt font on manifests.
- Able to hear and respond on two-way radios.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Fast-paced environment
- Able to work in all weather conditions and temperatures.
- Able to work overtime, as required.
- Able to work weekends.
