Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), also known as speech therapists or speech and language therapists, have a diverse job description that involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with various communication and swallowing disorders.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to work on an individual basis with a specific client.

Here is an overview of their job responsibilities:

- **Assessment**:

- Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Identifying the nature and extent of communication impairments or disorders.
- **Diagnosis**:

- Formulating a diagnosis based on the assessment findings.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to understand underlying medical conditions affecting communication.
- **Treatment Planning**:

- Developing individualized treatment plans based on the assessment results and the individual's specific needs and goals.
- Setting measurable and achievable objectives to address communication or swallowing challenges.
- **Therapeutic Intervention**:

- Providing direct therapy to individuals, which may include exercises, activities, and strategies to improve communication skills or swallowing function.
- Using a variety of therapeutic techniques and technologies to address speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- **Counseling**:

- Offering counseling and support to individuals and their families to help them cope with communication disorders.
- Educating clients and their families about communication strategies and exercises to reinforce progress outside of therapy sessions.
- **Collaboration**:

- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to care.
- Participating in multidisciplinary teams to address the diverse needs of individuals with complex conditions.
- **Documentation**:

- Maintaining accurate and thorough records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Providing written reports to communicate findings and recommendations to other healthcare professionals and relevant stakeholders.
- **Continuing Education**:

- Staying current with advancements in the field through ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Adhering to ethical standards and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- **Advocacy**:

- Advocating for individuals with communication disorders to ensure they receive appropriate services and support.
- Participating in community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about communication disorders.

**Qualifications**:

- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current licensure or registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of autonomy.

**Salary**: From $130.00 per hour
