**How will this role support our team?**
The Supervisor, Investigations, leads a team of investigators to complete investigations of complaints from examination through to referral to the Complaints and Discipline committees. The role also performs investigative duties for complex complaints.
**Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)**
- Supervise and provide support/expertise to College Investigators looking into allegations of professional misconduct.
- Facilitate the timely completion of investigations by assigning cases and ensuring Investigators have required supports.
- Oversee the investigative process. Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures and offer investigative insight.
- Proofread and edit investigative documentation.
- Investigate serious and/or complex complaints/allegations of professional misconduct.
- Manage/maintain case files in accordance with Department guidelines.
- Review complaints to assess risk, identify potential conduct issues and develop the investigation plan.
- Collect, interpret, document, and preserve relevant information and evidence. This can include obtaining and executing production orders, subpoenas, and warrants.
- Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and licensees to assist counsel, the Complaint Committee and Discipline Committee in determining the facts of the case.
- Liaise with other stakeholders including the public, lawyers, tribunal members and enforcement agencies to gather additional information.
- Liaise with licensees and their counsel to obtain client files, documents and communications that are relevant to an investigation.
- Prepare the Final Investigative Report for submission to the appropriate team members or committee.
- Testify as necessary in disciplinary proceedings.
- Provide support for the hearings process by preparing and reviewing documentation for hearings and testifying at disciplinary hearings, as necessary.
- Engage in ongoing review and updates of investigative process to ensure they are up to date and provide the most efficient and timely resolution of investigations.

- Written and verbal communication skills to prepare case materials, testify at disciplinary hearings and to communicate with parties diplomatically and respectfully.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of review and documents.
- Tact and discretion to work on confidential and sensitive matters.
**Required Education and Experience**
- College Diploma in a related field such as business, risk, immigration, investigations, or law enforcement, plus additional training or certification in a related discipline (e.g., fraud, investigation).
- 5-7 years of experience. Working in an investigative capacity in a regulatory or enforcement agency.
- Knowledge of investigative processes, evidentiary rules and assessment, interview techniques, cyber investigations, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of legal and administrative law principles such as procedural fairness, confidentiality, privacy, human rights, and evidence law. Ability to acquire knowledge of the College Act, regulations, By-laws, and Code of Professional Conduct.
