**Position Summary**

As an Operator-CPIC within our Occurrence Processing department, you will be responsible for entering and maintaining information on the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) system and responding to requests for information in accordance with RCMP and PRP policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**

**What will your typical day look like?***
- **Q**ueries, adds, modifies and removes records on the CPIC system in relation to Person Files (e.g.. missing, accused, court action, special interest police and surveillance),Vehicle Files (e.g. stolen, recovered, surveillance) and Marine Files (e.g.. stolen, recovered, surveillance).
- Adds, modifies and removes warrant entries and court documents, including release orders, peace bonds, weapons prohibitions and restraining orders. Uploads release orders to occurrences via Niche. Updates court document status using Adobe Pro.
- Verifies and reviews CPIC entries to ensure compliance with PRP and RCMP CPIC Field Operations policies and procedures; returns occurrences to officers and Operator-Records Systems for corrections or additional information through Niche tasking.
- Queries registered owners and vehicle/driver history information through the PARIS (Police Automated Registration Information Service) database. Sends, receives and disseminates narrative traffic messages internally and externally to other police agencies, including Zone and Provincial Alerts.
- Answers inquiries and CPIC requests for information by checking records, court dockets and occurrences; provides guidance and explains procedures related to information maintained on CPIC/PARIS/ACUPIES/CASPER/UCR and Niche systems.
- Liaises internally with both civilian and sworn members as it relates to confirming warrants, stolen vehicles and Ministry of Transportation (MTO) suspension files using the CAD (computer-aided dispatch) system.
- Provides technical guidance to PRP members in relation to CPIC according to PRP and RCMP policies and procedures.
- Answers internal and external telephone inquiries.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

**You are someone with**:

- A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional course(s) and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of two years related experience required, with at least one year as an Operator-Records Systems
- MS Word-Basic
- MS Excel-Basic
- MS Outlook
- Demonstrated knowledge of CPIC
- Demonstrated knowledge of UCR/Niche/PQT
- Demonstrated knowledge of Occurrence Processing Procedures
- Knowledge of P.A.R.I.S. System (Police Automated Registration Information System) preferred
- Knowledge of A.C.U.P.I.E.S. (Automated Canadian United States Police Information Exchange System) preferred
- Knowledge of CAD preferred
- Well-developed keyboarding and data entry skills
- Effective oral communication skills
