I am seeking ONLY first year apprentices. Women. Indigenous persons, New Canadians, LGBTQ2+ individuals, visible minorities and persons with disabilities, are particularly welcomed. This being because I have recently been offered funding from the Federal Government to support such individuals. The funding doubles with a choice from any of these categories. Applicants must be FLUENT In English.

The biggest benefit that I offer to applicants is extremely fast learning. Along with my 47 years experience in custom woodworking, fine finish carpentry and carpentry I also have 25 years experience in night school woodworking teaching. And I regularly give tutorials on the myriad topics involved in woodworking. My small company specializes in high end cabinets and built-ins and solid wood furniture.

Along with the fact that I am looking for applicants who are new to this field and have a keen interest in learning and going on to achieving their Red Seal ticket, I will say that attitude and personality are equally important. I need someone who is pleasant to work with and is open to learning my methods of doing things. Along with their own contribution of inventive ideas.

We currently are on a 4 day work week. But that might go to 5 days in the near future, Hours worked are flexible between 8 to 9 hours per day.

- First of all, you must be Fluent in English. The detailed nature of cabinet making makes this an absolute necessity. Additionally, one of the most important aspects of working in a small shop with 3-4 people is personality. I would prefer someone who has good communication skills, is polite and respectful to all around them and is willing to learn and be taught in my best methods acquired over the last 45 years. I also invite individual feedback on suggestions regarding methods of construction. I am also open to a wide range of ages anywhere from 18 to 50years old.
