Salary for the period March 7, 2023 to April 13, 2023 is $4125.

Course details:
Sustained engagement with the major texts of the German novel from Grimmelshausen to the present. Jugend in Deutschland 1775-1975.

This course is taught in GERMAN.

Position Summary:
A Course Lecturer assignment includes all or part of the following teaching activities:
a) preparation of the Course and Course plan;
b) delivery of the Course;
c) evaluation of students;
d) submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades;
e) supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff;
f) upon request, review of their students’ grades;
g) meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements.

Employees shall perform their duties in compliance with the Pedagogical Regulation and as specified in the administrative directives of the Hiring Unit. An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Ph.D. in German or registered in the German Studies graduate program at McGill. Native or near-native fluency in German and English.

Experience

A minimum of two semesters as instructor of a course at a similar level or to be a PhD student in German Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at McGill University.
