Professional Skate Sharpening and Hockey Shop Attendant

**Duties**:

- Engage in professional and skilled skate sharpening and repair services, with keen attention to detail.
- Assist customers with their inquiries about our products and services, while providing provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment including retail marketing services
- Stock shelves and ensure retail products are properly displayed
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers
- Assist with inventory management and restocking
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and an interest in learning new ways to address time-sensitive repair needs associated with ice skating sports.
- Assist with social media platform management to engage the community and market our small business
- Collaborate with local groups to provide quality services and goods in response to customer needs
- Communicate closely with management to ensure consistent quality service provision

**Skills**:

- Strong communication skills in English; working knowledge of French is an asset
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience in local hockey, figure-skating, skating communities
- Experience with skate sharpening
- Dependable, reliable, on-time and consistent
- Efficient - must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Adapt to change and handle minor problems independently
- Knowledge of hockey and ice skating equipment
- Desire to engage in self-directed learning and updating skills and knowledge about emerging trends and skate-sharpening strategies, theory, and practice.

We are seeking new talent to fill three part-time positions at our Professional Skate and Hockey Shop in Kingston, Ontario. As a Pro Shop Attendant at our unique shop, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, repairing and maintaining our customer's skates and equipment, maintaining the shop's appearance, and assisting with sales transactions. If you have a passion for hockey, you enjoy the challenge of hands-on repairs and skate-sharpening, you possess excellent communication skills, and have a knack for organization, we would love to hear from you.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 20 per week
