About L.I.F.E. Services_**

**L.I.F.E.** stands for **L**earning, **I**nclusion, **F**riendship and **E**mployment. The program is part of CLBC’s Community Inclusion category of services. It is available to anyone served by CLBC who has an employment goal, and who also want support to increase confidence and independence, connect to the community, learn new things, build friendships and a network of natural support around them. L.I.F.E. Services are designed to respond to the natural rhythm of a person’s life, and adjusts supports provided over time in response to people's changing goals and needs. The supports offered through L.I.F.E. services enable people to personalize, direct and evaluate their services in a way that works for them.

L.I.F.E. Services Supervisor_**

Oversees and models the work of the L.I.F.E. Services staff, while also providing supports to a caseload of program participants. Works closely with staff and participants to continually improve the services provided. Supports staff to develop, implement, and evaluate support plans, and interventions informed by an understanding of the participant's needs, associated risks, problems and opportunity areas related to the person's goals to secure employment, strengthen informal support networks, connect in community, develop skills and pursue lifelong learning. Guides staff on how to review information gathered in order to develop plans and strategies to mitigate risks, solve problems, meet needs, achieve goals and pursue life expectations. The supervisor supports and also coaches participants in a variety of employment, community and learning settings in areas such as job skills, communication skills, self determination enhancement, confidence building, transit training, personal safety, healthy lifestyles, and relationship building. Follows up job placements and community connections by assisting individuals, employers and community members to establish effective relationships.

**HOURS**:
37.5 hours/week. This position requires flexible working hours including some evenings/weekends as required by the needs, ambitions and schedules of the people supported.

**LOCATIONS**:

- Community Based - Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland
- Head Office in Port Moody

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Community Support Worker, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of experience in supporting people with developmental disabilities
- One year or more of supervisory experience
- Experience in community connecting and development
- Employment facilitation experience/knowledge
- Experience in user-led Design and facilitation an asset
- Ability to develop presentations and convene/facilitate community discussions
- Position requires well-developed interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Class 5 Driver’s License; satisfactory driving record; required to use personal vehicle for work
- Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check Clearance
- BCGEU union membership
