A & A Environmental Consultants Inc. is a multi-disciplinary environmental consulting firm offering consulting services in the fields of site assessments and cleanups (ESA Phase I-IV), water resource studies, indoor and outdoor air quality studies and permitting, designated substance survey studies including asbestos and mould testing, landfill design and monitoring, and geotechnical and hydrogeological investigation and studies
This position is responsible for mainly participating in and leading field investigations and inspections. This may include Phase 1 ESA’s, Phase 2 ESA’s, delineation/remediation of ground water and/or soil, excavations, DSS, IAQ, mould inspections, landfill monitoring, report writing & creating maps/figures in AutoCAD.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Gathering air, water, and soil samples to determine contamination level and assessing environmental conditions.
- Conducting surveying to determine groundwater elevations.
- Designing/following methodologies for environmental sampling and analysis.
- Implementing quality control and quality assurance protocols for testing materials for conformity and compliance.
- Measuring field characteristics, properties, and composition of soils, river channels, and biological systems.
- Assisting the project manager in preparing reports of findings for clients.
- Implementing/executing procedures according to the Health & Safety Act.
- Preparing and documenting detailed field notes.
- Inputting borehole logs & well records, sorting/organizing soil & assisting the project manager with additional tasks.
Education
- Environmental Technician Diploma preferred
- Valid Ontario Class G Drivers License in good standing with a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business
Experience
- Preference will be given to those who have experience in the environmental sector.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
- Intermediate interpersonal, time management, organizational, prioritization, analytical report writing, verbal communication, written communication, presentation, problem solving and leadership skills are necessary
- Excellent written and oral English language
- Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and the internet
- Availability to work outside of designated normal hours per week, if necessary
- Ability to travel and stay overnight occasionally for jobs outside of the immediate area
- Legal Canadian employment status
Location
- Work is based out of our Woodstock office
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
