**Available Position: Truck & Transport Technician**

Licensed and Apprentice Truck and Transport technicians and Red Seal Automotive technicians are invited to apply.

MacKay’s Truck & Trailer Center is growing, and we are currently seeking a **Truck & Transport Technician** to join our team in **Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island**. MacKay’s is a well-established family-owned business with over 40 years experience operating full-line Truck, Trailer & Compact Equipment dealerships, with locations in Truro & Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, as well as Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Moncton, New Brunswick.

We currently have an opening on our day shift for a permanent full-time technician. This is not a flat rate shop, technicians and apprentices are paid hourly. We offer a fast paced, professional safe environment. MacKay’s provides employees with the most up to date manufacturers’ training and holds safety to highest standards.

MacKay's offers a competitive salary of **$43-$82K **(depending on experience), a comprehensive compensation package that includes medical, dental, vision, and extended health benefits, company pension (matched), three weeks vacation to start, boot and tool allowance.

As a Truck and Transport Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks and transport vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. You will conduct inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and perform necessary repairs, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards. Your role will also involve completing maintenance tasks, documenting work performed, and providing exceptional customer service. The position requires a strong understanding of vehicle systems, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship in automotive service.

**Experience**:

- 1 to 5 years of experience in the Truck and Transport trade is an asset
- Truck and Transport or Automotive Red Seal certifications are considered an asset
- Cummins engine training and Mack/ Volvo Master tech training is an asset
- Class one driver license is considered an asset
