**Machine Operator**

**(Chilliwack)**

The primary role of the Machine Operator is to
- prepare machines for start-up of daily runs;
- assist packers with set-up and cleaning before and after shift on a daily basis;
- perform machine adjustments and operator related maintenance on a daily basis to maintain the equipment in optimal condition for filling;
- help keep the filling machine clean and maintained and alert maintenance of any problems; get involved in simple preventive maintenance and inspection of equipment;
- remove all discards and garbage bins and keep area clean during operations;
- bring to the attention of the Lead Hand, Supervisor, Plant Manager or QA Technician any issues or concerns in the processing section such as equipment breakdown, quality problems, schedules, work load, etc.
- perform other tasks as assigned

**Skills, Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Strong ability and aptitude for handling machinery and equipment
- Some mechanical skills required
- Organizational skills and ability to make decisions and problem-solve
- Good judgement
- Able to handle physical work requirements and repetitive work
- Hardworking, flexible, results-oriented team player
- Ability to perform basic math
- Previous experience working in a food production environment is an asset
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Knowledge of manufacturing/industrial equipment is an asset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate one-on-one and in group settings.
- Experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
- Proficient in MS Office and experience in SAP system is an asset
- Problem solver with good analytical skills and the ability to trouble shoot as the need arises. I.E. Equipment and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrates team approach, behaviors and interpersonal skills that contribute to a positive team and work environment.
- Maintains a clean safe work environment
