**THE POSITION**
This position's main goal/task is to maintain (day to day, weekly, monthly, yearly) physical handling, supervision and control of all materials flow in and out of the Production Department area according to the company’s guidelines.
This job/position ensures physical delivery (availability) and proper placement (SKU, Quantities, Quality, FIFO of all direct/indirect materials needed in production process and buffer zones, according to Production Orders Schedule and Production Management directives, and also guarantee accurate physical/system inventory levels/data in the ERP system.
**JOB DUTIES**
**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the production floor and buffer stock zones (5S).
- Ensure all production supplies and materials are closed and sealed with tape after use.
- Teamwork with other employees and lead hands to meet the daily requirements of material replenishment process and scheduled production volume.
- Report observations of any deviation to the process/procedure or a defect or nonconformance to the materials which may result in a situation requiring food safety assessment and placing product on hold or scrapping the materials/supplies immediately.
- Ensure physical delivery and proper placement of all materials to production designated areas and buffer stock zones
- Assist in physical, weekly inventory cycle count per family of materials and finished goods and according to the count sheets.
- Work with Production Foreman/Supervisor and other lead hands to ensure the correct balance of materials for all production lines.
- Inspect raw materials prior to production to ensure correct SKU/Quantity and Quality.
- Promote and follow all company and regulatory standards, including but not limited to; Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Food Safety, Safe Operating Procedures (SOP's), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Document product output and manage labeling and tagging of finished goods.
- Convey used carts to cleaning zones for sanitation.
- Distribute sanitized carts to respective production rooms for use.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Production Lead hands and Production Management Team.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- High school graduate or equivalent qualification.
- Technical diploma preferred but not necessary
- Minimum 1-year Production/Supply Chain experience.
- Food Industry work experience is preferred.
- Experienced Forklift Operator - Class 2 Forklift license is required
- Proficient in operating material handling equipment, including power jacks, manual pallet jacks, and forklifts.
- Skilled in inventory organization and management to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Physically capable of bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- Comfortable standing for prolonged durations during shifts.
- Proficient in English, with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
- Demonstrates excellent time management skills with a knack for prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Keen attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards.
- Committed to workplace safety and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Ability to understand verbal Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of ERP Programs is considered an asset
**WORK CONDITIONS**
- Permanent Full-time position (40 hours per week)
- Work is performed in the Vancouver Production Plant and Warehouse
- Internal relations with Receiving, Warehouse, Janitorial, Production Management Team, Qulaity assurance team, Purchasing, Continuous Improvement Team
- Exposure to noise and a wet temperature varied environment when in the production area
- Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet business needs
- Wearing of company provided Uniform and other Personal Protective Equipment is required as applicable
